This month’s whisky of the month, Creative Director Adam Carr, has selected the magnificent Lagavulin 8.
Following last month’s autumnal delicious Craigellachie 13, we travel to the Scottish island of Islay’s shores to the neighbour of world-renowned peaty malt Laphraoig.
Released to coincide with the distillery’s 200th anniversary in 2016, this whisky’s style is a throwback to the typical flavours being produced in the 1880s.
It is a peated single malt, aged in American Oak that’s strong and smoky with some sweet and peppery notes with that salty Islay hit, from its prime location on the coast.
We enjoy it with just a drop of distilled water to unlock all those big flavours but ask your bartender how best to sample it to your taste.
Sample this excellent whisky for only £6 and discuss the best way to get the most out of your drink. Stay tuned for details of a competition, where you could win a bottle.
