This month’s whisky of the month, Creative Director Adam Carr, has selected new kid on the block from Islay big hitters, Ardbeg: Wee Beastie.
We stay firmly in Islay this month with the latest permanent fixture to the Ardbeg stable, and it’s not for the faint-hearted!
The Ardbeg creators were determined to make the rawest, smokiest Ardbeg ever. At just 5 years old, Wee Beastie is the youngest they have created and is a beautifully smoky dram that will tingle your tastebuds!
On the nose, sniff out the intense aromas of cracked blacked pepper mingled with pine resin and the sharp tang of smoke. Which breaks through to your mouth with a hit of chocolate, creosote and tar and that familiar Islay saltiness.
Matured in ex-bourbon and Oloroso sherry casks, Wee Beastie is perfect for enjoying neat, or as the mouth-watering main ingredient in a powerfully smoky cocktail – we enjoyed some frozen Wee Beastie pina coladas at Halloween!
